Matilda Achieves Success at State Level

Queensland Little Athletics Champion

On the weekend of 22 -24 March, 2019, our Year 5 student Matilda Duhig travelled to Townsville to compete in the Queensland Little Athletics State Championships held at the Townsville Sports Reserve. The State Championships are the final major competition in the league, and qualifying athletes from across Queensland take part in this annual event in the hope of becoming the State Champion in their chosen event.

Matilda achieved exceptional results, including:

• 3rd Place in the 1500m event, with a time of 5:28
• 3rd Place in the 800m event, with a time of 2:44
