Savvy Students Sell Sweet and Savoury Treats at Market Day

Throughout Term 1, our Year 10 Business classes have been busy planning and preparing for their highly-anticipated business showcase event, our annual 'Market Day'. The Year 10s formed groups of 3-4 students, and decided on a small business venture for their market stall. In preparation for Market Day, they had to plan their resources, products, finance, and health and safety requirements in connection with their stall. They were also tasked with choosing their marketing channel, and opted for promoting their 'business' at assemblies, in classes or on Social Media.

On Friday, 15 March, 2019, after months of hard work, our groups set out to transform the SLC Precinct into an enticing and colourful array of marketplace produce. Throughout morning tea and lunch breaks, the Precinct was abuzz with senior staff and students as flurries of transactions took place.

The cumulative efforts and enthusiasm of our savvy students saw all stalls successfully make a profit, sharing a portion of their profits with various charities.
