Our College

Bus Service

Hillcrest offers an extensive bus service for students travelling to and from our College each day. We have our own fleet of modern, air-conditioned buses which are all equipped with three-point seat belts and installed with event cameras for safety along with RollCall App service. Included in our fleet is the very first electric school bus in Australia.

Our bus routes extend in various directions, as far south to Casuarina Beach in northern NSW, a western route to the Gold Coast Hinterland, and a northern route that reaches as far as Runaway Bay. Additionally, we offer complimentary transportation to and from Varsity Lakes Train Station and the College.

Our Bus Services uses RollCall School bus management system. RollCall keeps parents and the College informed and alerted about children’s intended and actual bus trips with real-time tracking. The system uses ‘smart tags/cards’ with advanced device-bus tracking technology to give parents and the College full visibility of students travelling on our buses.

Bus Booking Procedures

You are no longer required to complete a new application each term, as your bookings will be rolled over each term using the booking travel pattern of the second to last week of each term. If your circumstances change, please notify Bus Services via email at buses@hillcrest.qld.edu.au to update your child/ren's profile. Each term your account will be charged and an alert will be sent through RollCall. Payment can be made via Rollcall.

Please use the link provided to register for our bus services. Below are the steps for registering for Bus Travel.
Before applying you must read with your travelling children the ‘BUS USER CODE OF CONDUCT’ contained in the College Bus Service Booklet and agree to the conditions.

  1. Fill out the "Bus Signup Form" (new users only) and select the bus route and service you require.
  2. Once we receive your application you will receive an email from RollCall inviting you to load the RollCall application onto your device. The email also contains useful instructional videos.

  4. Once your application has been processed, the bus driver of your chosen bus route will contact you regarding the best pick-up/drop-off locations and times, alternatively, you are welcome to email buses@hillcrest.qld.edu.au or text the respective Bus Driver.
