2020 Captaincy Camp

On Sunday, 20 October 2019, our 2020 student captaincy team headed off to an adventurous leadership training experience at Emu Gully Adventure Camp, near Toowoomba. The aim of the two-day camp was to practice and sharpen the student's leadership skills, as they participated in a range of activities designed to improve their problem solving and communication skills, as well as enhance the group's teamwork and cohesion.

Our aspiring leaders were encouraged to utilise the ANZAC characteristics of courage, perseverance, self-sacrifice, and mateship. They were challenged physically and mentally, and had to overcome many obstacles in order to experience personal and team development. Some of the exciting challenges included blindfolded hiking, tunnel crawling and Kokoda mud track expeditions.

Throughout the activities, our 2020 student leadership team demonstrated their aptitude as resilient and able leaders, who are now better equipped and ready for the captaincy challenge that awaits them. Our College is excited to see their continued growth as leaders, and the way they will work together to build an even stronger student community in 2020.
