On the evening of Monday, 11 March, we held our first Senior Learning Community Music Concert for 2019. It featured students from Yeas 7 through to Year 12 in instrumental ensembles and choirs, and several of our senior academic Music students. Stage Band and Volare combined forces to perform a catchy jazz number entitled Soul Bossa Nova and Drumline inspired the audience with their energetic performance. Vivo Strings performed two very contrasting pieces, one featuring an electric violin solo.
Bel Canto and Bella Voce, two of our excellence choirs, performed songs by both Australian and international composers which they workshopped during the recent Choral Camp. We also heard from Man Choir in their first performance for the year, with the song Un Poco Loco from the recent Disney Pixar film 'Coco.'
It was a pleasure to hear solo performances from some of our senior Music and Music Extension students, Alice Kerr, Zali Welsh, Sienna Jak and Marnie Rienecker, presenting some of their current assessment pieces. These included Australian and French art songs and musical theatre.
