ANZAC Day - A day to remember

On the eve of ANZAC Day 2019, all members of our College community paused to remember the sacrifices of our past Servicemen and women, who lost their lives fighting for our country in World Wars, and to honour those Australians who continue to serve our country, and have been wounded or killed in ongoing overseas military operations.

During the Years 5 - 12 ANZAC Day Assembly, the harmonious sound of our students rang out across the MPC as we sang the Australian and New Zealand National Anthems. We were all then honoured to receive a Commemorative Address from the Hon. Karen Andrews MP, and Ms Ros Bates MP, as well as a special presentation from Chaplain Major Michael Pocklington. Retired Colonel Guy Bagot also joined us, to help us mark this important occasion. Our Year 12 Captains addressed the audience and Year 10 student, Tahlia Spence, played the Last Post perfectly, to conclude this heartfelt service.

In the afternoon, our younger Kindy - Year 4 students enjoyed their opportunity to learn more about the importance of ANZAC day at a special assembly in MPC.

They shall grow not old as we who are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
