Over the past two weekends in March, Hillcrest student, Callum Wines from class 3/4LUMOS, has competed in both the Iluka Junior Classic at Iluka Golf Course, and the Jeb Hunter Memorial Classic at Murwillumbah Golf Course.
At Iluka, Callum shot a gross score of 47 and finished tied second a single shot behind the winner. Callum’s tee shot on the par 3 6th hole finished only 3 metres from the pin and won him the Nearest the Pin prize.
At Murwillumbah, Callum shot a gross score of 50 in tough weather conditions and finished tied First. These results have kept Callum in contention at the top of the Order of Merit Leaderboard.
In the upcoming Easter school holidays, Callum will be competing in the Australian Junior Age Division Championships which will take place over three days at RACV Royal Pines – Good luck Callum.
