A handful of Hillcrest's budding designers entered the 2019 Design a Christmas Card competition recently, in the hope of designing the card selected to go out to 70,000 homes across the Southern Gold Coast this Christmas. This initiative has been running for the past few years by the Hon Karen Andrews MP, Federal Member for McPherson (Southern Gold Coast) and is open to Years 3 - 6 students across the Southern Gold Coast.
On Friday, 22 November, the Hon Karen Andrews MP made a special visit Hillcrest to present our Year 5 participants with their certificates. Students Fleur Hammersley and Jackson O'Neill were congratulated for their entries, while Pia Fowler's artwork earned her a Highly Commended award, which was a wonderful result from so many entries.
