When we reflect on the Christmas season, each of us may have different thoughts on what makes Christmas special to us. One of the most prominent bible verses about salvation, John 3:16, also points us to the true meaning of Christmas:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.John 3:16
This Christmas season I encourage you to discuss with your family the true meaning of Christmas and God’s agape (selfless, sacrificial, unconditional) love for us in that he sent his perfect son Jesus to this earth to save the world through him. God’s love, through our saviour Jesus, is by far the greatest gift we can appreciate and reflect upon this season.
