From the Acting Head of SLC

It has been a great start to 2020 in the SLC, with many stories of students demonstrating the College values during their time on our camps in Week 1. I had the pleasure of attending the Year 7 camp and it was rewarding to see our students becoming closer as a group as they worked through the outdoor activities on offer.

Our Community Expectations have not changed since last year, and it is important to us to make sure that our students are in the correct uniform each and every day. Staff have been regularly reminding students of our expectations, and it is important that we ensure parents are well aware of our expectations as well. Please download a current copy of our College Uniform Booklet if you need any clarification. This document is always available on our website via the Uniform Shop page.

Haircuts are one area of our expectations that we will be focusing on over the next week, so we appreciate your support from home. The rules in the Uniform Booklet are very clear and some students will need to change the style of their hair to meet our expectations.

I look forward to our Swimming Carnival next week as an outlet of the House Spirit that has been created over the past two years. Parents are encouraged to attend during the day to cheer on your children and we look forward to seeing you at Somerset College next Tuesday, 11 February.

Blessings,

Darren Rackemann
