Hillcrest Netball Soars

Hillcrest Netball launched its first JLC School Holiday Clinic on July 11, 2017. The Clinic was led by four experienced coaches who equipped the 50 budding netballers with a range of skills and techniques, from beginner to advanced. It was a great day for encouraging one another, building friendships and having fun!

Former Australian netballer Ash Rogers made a guest appearance, and shared her elite netball journey to inspire our students. Ash was an exceptional role model for the keen netballers, and joined in the fun and games with all age groups.

A special thank you to Chelsea Geddes, Keely Whitwell, Hannah Stortenbeker, Zali Welsh and Maddie Blackwell (Year 7 and 9 students), for assisting our coaches and helping to build our Hillcrest Netball culture with an attitude of service, and a heart to encourage others.

Hillcrest Netball is rapidly growing with the introduction of a strength and conditioning trainer this term, as well as doubling our school representative teams who will be playing in local club carnivals and state school carnivals in the coming months.

Last month, Hillcrest Netball was honoured to receive Community Support Funds from TELSTRA. Olympic Champion Duncan Armstrong, and his team at TELSTRA Communities, provided funds for equipment, coaching and training which will allow our netball development program to soar. Thank you TELSTRA!
