Year 5 student, Kauri Heuston-Conner, was the youngest competitor to participate in the Burleigh Heads Boardriders Club Single Fin surf competition from 11-12 January, 2020, and despite the small swell and unfavourable weather forecast, the event was a huge success and Kauri enjoyed every minute of it!
The 23rd Annual Single Fin Festival, is sponsored by Billabong, and celebrates the surfing, surfboards and the times of the single fin surfboard era. This unique event sees surfers competing on single fin surfboards, made pre-1985, and notable past competitors include Parko, Taj Burrow, Rasta and Mick Fanning.
