Over the September school holidays, our Kindy yard went through a special renovation of our sandpit area as well as the installation of a dry river bed. Our Pre Kindy and Kindy children are loving our new environments, and are always busy building and creating in the sandpit and dry river bed.
Both our sandpit area and dry river bed have hand pumps that our young learners can use to incorporate water into their play. Water is an important natural material that provides hours of absorbing fun and a multitude of wonderful developmental and learning opportunities. Some benefits of incorporating water into activities include energy release, therapeutic water play, motor skills, social skills and language and communication.
