On Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 June, Year 4 classes travelled to Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre. Year 4Y and 4A undertook workshops playing Aboriginal Games, handling Australian reptiles and venturing on a Bush Tucker taste testing experience. The next day, Year 4SL and 4P completed the same activities with just as much enthusiasm and excitement. Upon arrival, they had their faces painted according to the local Kombumerri tribal traditions. The hands-on activities each day keep the students engaged from start to finish and everyone came away with a deeper respect for and understanding of the Australian Aborigines.
