Year 5 Odd-Job-a-Thon

Year 5 has been involved in fundraising for their sponsor children this term through doing an odd-job-a-thon. They were given the challenge of over an eight week period giving up some of their time in as creative way as possible in order to perform jobs that could earn money to be donated to Compassion and Effective Aid towards their child sponsorship programs.

The children were very creative and generous in the ways that they raised funds: some cooked and sold their cooking to their neighbourhood or sports clubs; others worked at the local markets in their family business; other jobs included walking dogs; cleaning bird baths; cleaning yards and collecting animal droppings and some even donated their birthday or pocket money.

5P raised $750; 5S raised 322; 5PJ raised $320+; 5M raised $302. Thus a total for the year level was approximately $1700.

The stand out fundraisers were Tia Everest with $125, Cooper Nix with $100; Luke Pink with $75, Kristopher Perivolaris with $50 and Sarah Wilson at $77.

Great job Year 5 you did fantastically using some innovative and creative methods to achieve your goals.
