Year 6s Celebrate the End of an Era in Style

Quick as a flash and the year was almost done. But not before the Year 6's most important event of their Hillcrest learning journey so far - the Year 6 Graduation Ceremony, which was held at Reedy Creek Baptist Church again this year. With no seats left in the house, it was standing room only as many parents came along to celebrate this significant milestone with their children. This special event marked the culmination of seven years in the Junior Learning Community, and the start of a new season in their lives. Every Year 6 student received a personalised Bible and certificate from their class teacher, to remind them to hold fast to the Word of God, and to acknowledge their hard work throughout their junior years.

After the ceremony, the students headed home to get ready for the main event – the Year 6 Dinner Dance. This year, the incredible event was hosted by Lakelands Golf Club, and the students arrived dressed to the nines, even the teachers got some fashion tips and ideas! The students were treated to canapes under the Jacaranda trees in the garden, accompanied by the serene sound of Year 6 student, Moses Lau, playing the harp.

After a delicious dinner, the students and teachers hit the dance floor for a fun night of dancing and festivities. The evening ended with a rendition of the Cha Cha slide performed by the students for their parents, before the tired and sweaty students headed home.

It was an incredible evening of celebration and the teachers were blown away by the maturity and camaraderie displayed among this amazing cohort. We wish you all God's wisdom and guidance as you move to the Senior Learning Community next year.
