This year’s SLC Swimming Carnival took place on Thursday, 25 October, at Somerset College, and was the first taste of life and culture in the Senior Learning Community for our Year 6 cohort, and boy were they entertained! The four mighty Houses were brilliantly lead by the Year 12 leaders with dress ups, cheers and war cries, House themes and great participation in the pool. Carmichael showed us what a hot summer theme looked like, while Taylor House rocked the Honey Bee theme. Greene House entertained us with a majestic synchronised-swim routine which brought life to their Greene sea creatures, and Flynn House saved the day as sensational superheroes.
All students competed fantastically both in and out of the pool, and the Hillcrest staff were so proud of the supportive comradery that was on display. The mighty Taylor House took out the House Champion award, while Greene House celebrated their success in winning the illustrious House Spirit award.
The Swimming Carnival was a fantastic day for all, and we cannot thank our awesome senior cohort of 2018 enough for all of the great work they have done throughout the year.
