Another Amazing Musical

Well done to our Hillcrest community for a very successful production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe musical, which ran from 9 - 12 May, and told C.S. Lewis' iconic story of redemption.

An event of this scale does not just happen – it requires the collective efforts of a broader community who sacrifice their time, talents and energy. With this in mind, I give a heartfelt thanks to the cast, Production Team, staff and parents, for your contribution to making this community event a great success.

To the incredible cast – congratulations for being bold and courageous. The students who performed were aged between 12 and 14 years (apart from Zion Semaan who played Aslan), and more than half of them had never been on a stage before.

To the parents – thank you for playing taxi driver to the performers; for juggling home, school commitments and the musical, as well as assisting the Production Team with preparations for the musical.

Many thank to the Production Team (the Hillcrest Performing Arts Department), the Design Tech, Marketing and Art Departments, for your creativity and support.

Thanks to the staff and students who assisted us backstage and with security. Thanks to the College Leadership for their support in staging a musical of this scale; and lastly thanks to you, our audiences, for your generous support, in allowing our students to perform to a packed auditorium on each of the nights.
