Lachlan Aitken Named for Queensland Youth Cricket Academy

In August 2019, Queensland Cricket released its 2019-20 Youth Pathway Academy squad, and our Year 9 student, Lachlan Aitken, was one of the talented young cricketers chosen for the squad. The exciting program was created to fast-track the athletes' development, and help them become better prepared for future Youth Championships and potentially First Class and International cricket.

The Academy squad named 108 male and female players, aged 13 -15, who were carefully selected by the Queensland Cricket Coach and Talent Development Specialists, in consultation with the Queensland State Youth Selection Panel, and key regional stakeholders. The selectors considered individual player performances in State Championships, Club and school competitions throughout 2018 -19, and reviewed players from right across Queensland.

Under the guidance of QC Coach and Talent Development Specialists, Lachlan will participate in the nine-month personalised program which will included group and individual sessions. The program also includes Regional Camps to offer broader experiences in which to train, learn and grow.

Congratulations Lachlan!
