On the evening of Friday, 31 May, we held our SLC Music Concert, and enjoyed performances and compositions from many of our talented student musicians. Year 12 Music Extension students, Alice Kerr, Zali Welsh, Keely Harris, Paige Kruger and Chloe Deetlefs, performed expressively in their challenging pieces, and showcased their gifts and talents. Dominic Power also shared his first extension composition for the year, The Blizzard, and Year 10 student, Maddy Kaye, also performed for the audience. We enjoyed hearing from the Hillcrest String Orchestra in their first performance for the year, with an arrangement from Pirates of the Caribbean. The concert concluded with a beautiful performance from Bella Voce, showcasing both Australian and international composers.
Our next SLC Concert will be held on Monday, 22 July, and will feature all of our ensembles competing in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. We welcome all members of our Hillcrest community to attend.
