ESL Excursion to Movieworld

Recently our ESL students from the Senior Learning Community visited Warner Bros. Movie World. Their task was to research how Warner Bros. Movie World helps Non-English speaking visitors to enjoy their visit, evaluate how helpful these services are and suggest better methods Movie World can assist their non-English speaking visitors to enjoy their visit more.

Throughout the day students were required to survey 25 visitors regarding their nationality, level of English and their views of the services available to them. They were also required to critique signs and visual aids and interview a representative from the customer service department of the theme park. It was exciting to see our ESL students so proudly represent Hillcrest Christian College to the public. They showed confidence, respect and clarity of thought as they spoke with members of the public both in English and in their own native language.

The findings of this investigation will be sent to the management of Warner Bros. Movie World giving suggested improvements that could be made to improve the services to non-English speaking visitors.
