Hillcrest Christian College congratulates our Visual Art students on their incredible achievements in the 2017 d’Arcy Doyle Art Awards, held at Mudgeeraba Memorial Hall over the July school holidays.
Angie Turner (year 7) won 1st Prize, valued at $100, in the Primary School Category for a landscape that she completed last year in the after school Art Excellence Class, instructed by Jan Lawnikanis.
Sophie Dillon (Year 9) won an Encouragement Award and free art lesson.
Our Art Excellence teacher, Mrs Jan Lawnikanis, won 1st Prize Still Life for her watercolour painting.
The combined effort of Kate Neilson, Sophie Dillon, Grace Thompson, Ella Ramsey, Victoria Hayward and Anna Li won 1st Prize in the Secondary School Challenge, winning $250 for the College. This money will be put towards framing costs for future competitions. Well done Hillcrest!
