Update from The Hub

My name is Leanne Nunnink and I am very excited to be able to serve our community as the new Hub Manager.

The Hub team (pictured) is made up of Mandy, Jennet, Cathy and I, and we are very exciting to put our stamp on the Hub by introducing some new and improved systems and services. We have started to update our environment and are very proud to be able to offer a café style space for our community to enjoy. This is just the beginning of some wonderful changes that we are planning on making.

We are also very keen to remind our community of the processes that are in place for our students:

  • All JLC students are required to order through the Flexi Schools system for break time food and drinks (www.flexischools.com.au)
  • JLC students are free to purchase over the counter at breakfast time and after school.
  • SLC students are able to purchase food using their student ID cards which are to be linked to their Flexi Schools account.
  • We do have EFTPOS facilities, but encourage parents to register SLC students with Flexi Schools which also enables parents to monitor what items their children are buying.
  • In the event your child has forgotten their lunch, the school will provide them with either a vegemite, cheese or honey sandwich and a piece of fruit, at no cost. It is the responsibility of the student to notify canteen staff of any dietary requirements.

The team and I would also like to encourage all members of our community to volunteer. Anything from one hour to a whole day is very much appreciated. Just one day in the Hub will have your P&F levy waived! Besides having fun and serving the community, we provide free lunch and coffee to our volunteers. Please drop by and chat with one of us if you are able to support our community in this way.

The Hub is open to students and parents from 7.30am for breakfast through to 3.30pm, daily. We also invite our community to drop in between breaks for a coffee and bite to eat in our café.
